The 1958 Chevrolet Corvette was selected to be the Pink Slip Racer (PSR) for the Rocket 500 and the Gravity Race. To receive one of these, I think the contestant had to beat the sponsor of the Rocket 500 race. The design of the chassis and the "real wheels" tires on the 2006 PSR made it impossible to run on the track so substitute cars were used for the contests. The 2006 Pink Slip Racer for the Gravity Race and the 2006 Dinner Car Corvette were indentical to the 2006 Rocket 500 PSR other than the serial numbers.
